Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) on Wednesday arrested Devireddy Sivasankar Reddy, an influential YSRCP leader who is the fifth accused to be arrested by the CBI so far in the murder case that set ripples in state political circles.
CBI has produced the accused before a magistrate after a medical examination in Osmania. Sivasankar Reddy was later shifted to Kadapa on a transit warrant. He will be produced in the Pulivendula court in the afternoon. The son of Devireddy Sivasankar Reddy has already written a letter to the CBI seeking justice.
The arrest came in the wake of another accused Shaik Dastagiri, the former driver of late Viveka Turing approver. As per Dastagiri’s testimony, the rivalry between Gangi Reddy and Sivashankar broke out after the defeat of Vivekananda in MLC elections in 2017 at hands of Btech Ravi of TDP.
