Even as the interstate bus services from Andhra Pradesh remain suspended, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on Friday dropped good news for the commuters.
In response to the proposal submitted by APSRTC, Jagan-led state government has reportedly gave a nod to run intercity bus services from Saturday in a phased manner.
In the first phase, the authorities confirmed that services in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada will be resumed with all necessary COVID precautions. However, the services will refrain to 200 to 300 buses which will run in rotation. It can be noted that only 60 per cent of the passengers will be allowed on the bus.
On the other hand, there has been no clarity over the inter-state bus services for Telangana while a series of talks between the transport corporations of both states failing to yield results. Services to Hyderabad turned to be the bone of contention with almost 90 per cent of services from AP ply in this particular route.
