It has been one hell of a journey for the Congress party in Telangana, especially the last few days. The distance from the assembly hall to the parking area was great, but in front of the will of the Congress, it had become smaller. Obstacles and sanctions could not stand before the goal of attending the meeting of their beloved leader. One step at a time, Congress leaders and activists made it to Warangal. All those TRS and BJP leaders who were questioning the reasons behind Rahul Gandhi were given a stunning answer with the success in conducting the meeting, which also sent a strong message that Congress still has a strong foothold in Telangana state. National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was the chief guest at a farmers’ meeting organized on the grounds of Hanmakonda Arts College. The meeting was attended by party ranks and people from all over the state.
Rahul Gandhi addressed a large gathering. TRS and BJP were severely criticized. He stated that both BJP and TRS parties were together from the very beginning itself, and are secretly cooperating with each other for their political benefits. He was incensed that TRS had cooperated with the center to bring in three black laws which in fact caused harm to the people of Telangana. Rahul mentioned that Modi is aware of the significance of the TRS party in Telangana and that is the reason behind his cooperation with TRS leaders, moreover, “although TRS is ruling the state, it is BJP that controls them from behind,” he said.
Rahul declared that he will teach a lesson to both TRS and BJP in the upcoming assembly elections. “Those who cheated the youth of Telangana will be sacked. This time tickets will be given only to those who are popular among the people. The party will keep an eye on who is doing what. Those who are not among the people should not get tickets this time,” added Rahul.
“People have given TRS a chance twice, but their wishes were not fulfilled,” said Rahul Gandhi, adding that Congress will definitely fulfill the aspirations of the people of Telangana if they are given a chance in the coming elections. “A man in Telangana has been accused of corruption worth thousands of crores. Nothing of that sort will happen in our reign, and we will not maintain relationships with such kind of scammers,” he declared. He warned that anyone who speaks about Congress forming alliances with any other party will be expelled on immediate notice. He also said that the coverts who are close to TRS and BJP may leave the party.
He alleged that the TRS government was not listening to the problems of the farmers and could not find support prices for crops in the country and the state. Announcing the historic Warangal Declaration, Rahul said Congress would write off a debt of Rs 2 lakh for each farmer right when it comes to power. He promised to fulfill the dream of Golden Telangana, adding that he will deposit Rs 15,000 per acre for each farmer, directly in their bank accounts. Rahul further spoke about the times during the formation of the Telangana state, adding that it was Sonia Gandhi who granted the free state of Telangana, and it involved so many people sacrificing their lives. Slamming the TRS party-led government, Rahul mentioned that the free state was given expecting that something good will happen for the farmers of the state, adding that nothing of that sort actually happened.
