The opposition claims that KCR’s family is benefiting from every project going on in Telangana. Senior Congress leader Bakka Judson has complained to the Central Water Resources Commission on the same issue. He also sent some evidence explaining the tendering process and the irregularities in the Kaleshwaram, Palamuru Rangareddy, and other projects. The Central Water Resources Commission has given a shocking reply to this. They said that they have looked into the complaint sent by Judson, but it is not within its purview. Judson was very impatient with this. He said that it is regrettable that there is no connection even though a complaint has been filed along with the evidence.
“Kaleshwaram mega project has become chaotic due to the Godavari flood. SC/ST sub-plan funds of Rs. 1.15 crores were diverted and reached the Kalvakuntla treasury from Megha Construction via Kaleswaram. Kannepally, which lifts water, and Annaram pumphouses above it were completely submerged, 29 Bahubali motors in both pumphouses, electro-mechanical equipment to operate them, control panels, computers, two huge air-condition systems, two SCADA systems, sub-stations were all lost in the flood. Retired engineers say that this has caused a loss of hundreds of crores of rupees and the main reason for this is design and maintenance errors,” said AICC member Bakka Judson.
He said that in the Kaleshwaram project, the construction defects are coming out one by one, especially in August 2019, the protection wall of the Lakshmipur pump house was damaged and water leaked. It is stated that on September 3 of the same year, the protection wall of the Kannepally pump house was damaged and water entered the motors. It was informed that the protection wall was damaged during the third TMC work. On 9 October 2019, leakages occurred in the gates of Annaram Barrage, and on 23 August 2020, the gravity canal lining collapsed near Kaleswaram due to light rains. He recalled that the project collapsed in September 2019 due to non-compliance with the protocol in filling Mid Maneru, and the pipeline supplying water from the Annaram pump house rose out of the ground on July 28 last year due to heavy rains.
“On September 27 last year, the Sundilla barrage embankment was damaged, and the walkover bridge built in Kondapochammasagar collapsed on August 30, 2020. The revetment at the Ranganayakasagar delivery cistern was damaged on July 7 of the same year. The gravity canal that carries water to Yadadri district was broken on June 30, 2020, all these are failures,” said Bakka Judson.
