The Republic Day tractor march called by the farmers against the central government’s farmer laws clearly deviated from what was planned ending up public property vandalised and a farmer dead.
Amid a massive outrage over protesters reaching to Red Fort and hoisting a religious flag, focus now fell on Deep Sidhu who is accused of instigating farmers.
Who is this Deep Sidhu..?
Deep Sidhu is a Bollywood actor who is also known for his social work. He started with a debut in Ramta Jogi in 2015 and was once an aide of Bollywood actor Sunny Deol who is now a BJP MP.
Deep was familiar with the BJP ground activists with his active part in 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign when Sunny Deol was contesting elections from the Gurdaspur seat of Punjab.
Coming to the agitations at the Red Fort, Deep through a Facebook video post confronted that it was him at the protests. However, he claimed it was not a planned move and that they should not be given any communal colour or dubbed as fundamentalists or hardliners.
He also clarified that the national flag was not removed from the flagpole at the Red Fort and that nobody raised a question over the country’s unity and integrity. To note, Sidhu has been associated with the farmers’ agitation for the last many months.
