He is a normal student who rose to a leader leading the revolutionary movements at Osmania University and was eventually murdered in the same university. George Reddy’s valour and sacrifice inspired many students at university who later rose to dynamic political leaders. However, with passing time, the story of this student leader faded away but not for the makers of ‘George Reddy’ who attempted to unfold the life of the forgotten student leader.
The makers of the film have unveiled the story with their trailer which stirred up quite a buzz in the tinsel town. Opening with the lines-” Privatisation is taking over, poor staying poor and rich becoming richer. Being against this, we have raised our voice to protest, but our protest has remained unheard,” famous lines from the rebellious student leader, the trailer gave a glimpse of how the founding member of the Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) rose to fame in university politics. ‘Vangaveeti’ lead Sandeep Madhav did a terrific job in the trailer helmed by Jeevan Reddy.
But here lies the bone of contention, known to be the most controversial director, why did Ram Gopal Varma spare the story of George Reddy whose life is a perfect movie material! Why did he leave the chance to his assistant Jeevan Reddy who co-directed ‘Dalam’ with him? These might be still questions, but we are sure RGV who has already congratulated the team for the bold move will soon why he opted out ‘George Reddy from his list.
