JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan yet again targeted the Chief Minister’s religious stand bringing an interesting video into the limelight. Quoting Chilkur Balaji Temple’s head priest Shri Rangarajan’s statements, Pawan posted a video which has the head priest’s views on Article 26. The actor-turned-politician questioned as of why the government is levying taxes only on Hindu temples. Going by the video posted, the priest made it clear that he was not against YSRCP government but has issues with all the state governments that collect 23.4 per cent tax on the income of the temples including endowment administration tax, audit fee and common good fund.

“Such taxes and share in revenue is not collected from not a single church or mosque,” he added. Taking the head priest’s concern further, Pawan stated that the government was not supposed to collect taxes from temples as per Article 27. He also averred that he and his party whole-heartedly welcomed the government increasing the financial assistance to the Jerusalem pilgrims.
