Pigeon race has been one of the most fascinating games in many parts of the world. There are a number of regions in India where this race is much celebrated every year. Today, we are going to talk about a place that is oceans away from our country, yet is fascinated with the pigeons’ race.
Going back in time, we are very much aware of the times when pigeons were the postmen that connected people from different parts of the world. These days, the kind of jobs pigeons are doing is mostly guttering on the big houses in the cities and on the monuments. Well, despite this, all they are encouraged by humans is in racing. Anyway, do you have any idea what these birds could cost up to? You would be super shocked when we tell you that these birds can cost you millions, just like the expensive high-end cars in the market.
Coming to the details, this took place exactly a few hours back in Europe. The most anticipated auction of the month has taken place in Belgium. In this auction that took place in Brussels, the capital, a female pigeon has been bought for the staggering amount of Rs 14 crores. This number broke all the existing records making it the most expensive pigeon ever brought. This female bird is two-years-old and is named New Kim.
The same pigeon is bought by the people who sold her now for the massive Rs 19.19 lakh. Kurt Wawver, the racer pigeon keeper, and his family are upset about bidding adieu to their lovely bird.
Famously celebrated for his number of winnings in the competitions held in 2018, New Kim also won the National Middle Distance Race after which she was retired. Sources say that the new buyers of the New Kim will use her for breeding. The racing pigeons generally lay eggs up to ten, and there is a huge demand for their offsprings in the market.
