While the world is still fighting the raising threat from Coronavirus, World Health Organisation(WHO) has been dropping unexpected statements which are coming as a jolt. Though the statements are bare realities that take quite some time to take in, WHO right from the inception of the pandemic has been preparing countries to fight battle including the US which however snubbed the agency.
In a recent revelation, WHO stated that the novel coronavirus “may never go away” and that people will have to learn to live with it. Taking to the media briefing, Michael Ryan, the world body’s emergencies director said- “without a vaccine, it could take years for the global population to build up sufficient levels of immunity.” In scientific terms, endemic is a condition or disease that is regularly found among particular people or in a certain area.
The global organisation warning that Corona would turn another HIV in the health care system has sent tremors to European countries have been seeking to restart cross-border travel, particularly as the summer holiday season looms for countries whose economies rely on tourists flocking to their beaches, museums and historical sites. WHO also cautioned the countries over the second wave of Covid-19 infections.
