Star wrestler Bajrang Punia on Monday announced that he would donate his six months salary to Haryana’s relief fund towards the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
The 25-year-old Bajrang who is one of India’s medal contenders at the Olympics ming to be held this year also urged the organisers to the postponement of Tokyo Olympics as the chances for spreading infection tends to be more. Taking to his official Twitter account the star bronze medalist who now works for Railways as the special officer called upon the citizen to contribute towards the Corona relief fund.

On Monday, the Haryana government launched a voluntary programme ‘Covid – Sangharsh Senani’ was launched as a part of which people could voluntarily give their services in hospitals. The government also announced the ‘Haryana Relief Fund’ welcoming people to donate towards the fight against the novel Coronavirus.
Former Cricketer and BJP lawmaker Gautam Gambhir has also offered to donate Rs 50 lakh from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). Meanwhile, speculations are rife that many of the celebrities and leaders would queue up to raise funds towards Corona Relief Funds.
