In what can be called a ‘new’ trend in Telangana politics, TRS supremo KCR is paving new paths for his son minister KTR. As observed by many political analysts, KCR has been deliberately avoiding senior leaders for crucial portfolios. At the same time, the state CM was observed giving chance for young leaders which is being termed as a political strategy.
The pattern can be observed starting off with fielding Saidireddy in Huzurnagar, Nomula Bharath in Nagarjuna Sagar, Kaushik Reddy as MLC and now Gellu Srinivas in Huzurabad by-polls. In Dubbaka as well, KCR shocked the local leaders by rejecting Ramalingareddy’s son quoting a bad track record as the reason.
Analysts say there is another strong reason behind the KCR’s decisions. Many opined that this is to limit Harish Rao’s power in the party by bringing young and dynamic leaders into the party. Harish Rao traveled with KCR from the beginning while he has been maintaining good relations with all the KCR associates.
Also, it is an open secret that all TRS senior leaders first approach Harish Rao before meeting KTR which probably made KCR insecure that his son KTR is not being given prominence. And this ladder of ‘young’ politicians is observed to be a strategy to increase KTR’s power.
