Y.S. Sharmila, the founder and chief of YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader was detained on Tuesday by the Medipally police for defying the police orders. The sister of Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan was destined while she was trying to stage a 12-hour fast at Boduppal exhibition grounds on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
As claimed by the Rachakonda police there was no permission for Sharmila’s deeksha at Boduppal and the leader tried to defy the orders. The police arrested Sharmila immediately after she reached the place and was shifted to Medipally police station on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway. Women police personnel forcibly lifted Sharmila and shifted her to a waiting police vehicle.
Followed by which tensions prevailed at the place with scores of YSRTP followers staging dharna in front of the police station demanding that she be released immediately. Speaking to the media later, Sharmila alleged that the arrest was a planned vendetta to stop her. She then alleged that the KCR government had taken the lives of hundreds of unemployed youth by not filling up job vacancies.
