There is no taking back in stating that the ruling YSRCP started to bottleneck the Opposite TDP right from day one of assuming the office. In a recent revelation, security cover of former minister and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh has been dropped from Y+ to X category. Followed by the recent shift in protection from Z to X, the TDP cadre lashed out on the state government for deliberately cornering the TDP leaders accusing it to be vengeance.
While the government defended their move to be the suggestions from the Security Review Committee, Lokesh accused the government of deliberately turning a blind eye over the security lapses in the past eight months besides writing to the government for eight times.
Lokesh’s security cover was increased to Z category in 2018 followed by the incidents like Maoist threat letter and the encounter of MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma. Lokesh was provided with 2+2 security cover during the Congress regime until 2014 in the combined AP, the TDP leaders said his security was enhanced to 4+4 later and the same was continued after he assumed charge as a minister in 2017.
