Parimal Nathwani of YSRCP was re-elected as member of Rajya Sabha in the biennial election from Andhra Pradesh. Re-elected for a third term, Nathwani was administered the oath of office by Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday in the latter’s chamber.
Rajya Sabha Secretary-General Desh Deepak Verma, and other senior officers of the Upper House Secretariat were also present on the occasion. Nathwani was elected to Rajya Sabha in May 2008 for his first term and in April 2014 for his second term.
It is to the known knowledge that the Business tycoon meeting with the Chief Minister Jagan alongside Parimal set ripples in the state politics back then. Jagan was rumoured to trade over the Rajya Sabha seat with a few crucial investments with Reliance Industries.
