YSR Congress rebel MP K Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju who continued to stand as the centre of debate in state political circles is now under the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) radar. The CBI sleuths reportedly conducted flash raids on 11 properties of the MP, including the ones in Hyderabad and Mumbai.
It is learnt that a special team of officers flew in from Delhi to Hyderabad, and are carrying out searches at Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju’s properties since 6AM in the morning. However, the MP when approached rubbished the reports as a hoax and has stated that there’s no CBI raid taking place at his house.
The CBI has reportedly lodged a fresh FIR regarding the Rs 826-crore fraud under cheating, criminal misappropriation against ten accused linked to Ind-Bharath Thermal Power Limited company. wife and daughter of the MP were also named by CBI in the FIR filed.
It can be noted that CBI raided Raju’s residence before the 2019 elections, based on the reports that he had taken a loan of Rs. 2,655 Crores from 3 NBFCs, and had refused to pay the amount back. However, the flash raid raised suspicious as they came close on the heels of CM Jagan rushing to Delhi amidst YSPCP-NDA alliance.
