The Zomato-assault row which shook the nation earlier has taken a new twist with Bengaluru police filing a complaint against the model and influencer Hitesha Chandranee, who had accused a Zomato delivery person of hitting her, for assault.
The complaint was reportedly filed against the influencers based on a complaint by the Zomato employee Kamaraj. After a series of statements and investigations by the Bengaluru Police, Hitesha has been booked under sections 355 (assault), 504 (insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
It can be noted that the accused man, Kamaraj, was arrested and released on bail and is now under temporary suspension from Zomato after the video was posted by Hitesha. After the FIR on Chandranee, many netizens have come out in support of the delivery executive.
