The recent ZPTC and MPTC results came as no shock to the political circles as everyone anticipated a landslide victory for ruling YSRCP while JanaSena as well displayed a decent performance. As per the results declared by the State Election Commission (SEC) till 7.30 p.m., the ruling party has won 547 ZPTCs out of declared 553 and 7,284 MPTC out of declared 8,083.

On average, over 90 percent of seats are secured by the ruling party while districts like Srikakulam and Chittoor as well turned one-sided. Though the ‘Yellow’ party announced that they boycotted the Parishad elections, many TDP candidates contested from the party who ultimately faced humiliation.
Besides the party having a strong ground-level cadre and strong leadership, TDP seems to fail with the low morale of the leaders. Many MPs have been at loggerheads not only while in power but also after coming into opposition which hit the commitment of activists. Further shocking the high command, Kuppam, the strong fort also saw a humiliating defeat while YRSCP secured 90 percent of seats.
